Apparently, the movie gods have been hearing my prayers. A few weeks ago, a sequel to my favorite movie of all time, Top Gun, was announced. And then yesterday, not one, but two additions to the Bad Boys series, were confirmed.
If you follow me on Twitter, my love for the Martin Lawrence-Will Smith buddy cop movies is well-documented, particularly the sequel. Despite the fact that I own both on DVD and Blu-Ray, I will literally drop everything I am doing to watch if I come across of the movies on cable, no matter if it’s just started or almost at the end:
Watching the last 20 minutes of Bad Boys II is better than no Bad Boys II at all.

Thank god USA runs it almost weekly.
Anyway, you can only imagine my excitement when Sony Pictures announced their slate of films for the next few years yesterday, which included Bad Boys III arriving on February 17, 2017 and Bad Boys IV slated for July 3, 2019. That may seem like a while off, particularly given that it’s been twenty years since original Bad Boys (1995) and twelve since Bad Boys 2 (2003), but I can be patient if it means we’ll see more car chases like this:
Although not a lot of details are available, it is suspected that both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be back for both, given previous comments from both actors. It is known, though, that Michael Bay, who directed the first two films, will not reprise his role. Instead, Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin’ Aces) is supposedly attached to write and direct at least Bad Boys 3.
Yes, sequels are always iffy, particularly with a change in director. It may not be plan B, but this is definitely plan C!
We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life. And if you don’t like it…why don’t you exercise your right to shut the fuck up? Because shit just got real. Woosah!.

Reading this after the past week is like eating a fresh doughnut after 3 days of wheatgrass-kale-gogi berry bullshit smoothies. Thank you
*my past week, articles here have been on point
I’m with ya, bro. It’s like a shining beacon of light.
I like you now, so don’t tread on that development with a terrible article.
What would constitute not terrible?
See that Will guy? Do as he does, he’ll be a millionaire someday.
Don’t want to rain on your parade, but once I grew up I watched Bad Boys II again an realized how much it sucked.
