I know I became addicted to Friday Night Lights after the pilot episode, and I know that I pretty much hated Parks & Rec until season two started. Well, it turns out Netflix knows a hell of a lot more than that about each and every one of us.
Via The Wall Street Journal, Netflix has all the information about the exact moment you became addicted to all the shows you wasted your Sundays binge-watching.
Netflix examined viewing patterns in the first season of 25 of the most-watched TV series in its catalog, including its own original series like “House of Cards” and “Orange Is the New Black.” The company identified the episode where 70% or more of viewers went on to finish at least the show’s first season.
Wondering where most people needed to get their fix the most? Here you go, per The Verge:
Arrow — Episode 8
Bates Motel — Episode 2
Better Call Saul — Episode 4
Bloodline — Episode 4
BoJack Horseman — Episode 5
Breaking Bad — Episode 2
Dexter — Episode 3
Gossip Girl — Episode 3
Grace & Frankie — Episode 4
House of Cards — Episode 3
How I Met Your Mother — Episode 8
Mad Men — Episode 6
Marco Polo — Episode 3
Marvel’s Daredevil — Episode 5
Once Upon a Time — Episode 6
Orange is the New Black — Episode 3
Pretty Little Liars — Episode 4
Scandal — Episode 2
Sense8 — Episode 3
Sons of Anarchy — Episode 2
Suits — Episode 2
The Blacklist — Episode 6
The Killing — Episode 2
The Walking Dead — Episode 2
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt — Episode 4
Am I slightly confused by the fact that some people watch eight fucking episodes of How I Met Your Mother before they get addicted rather than giving up after not loving it through seven episodes? Yeah, I am. Am I also wondering how it took people an entire three episodes to love House of Cards when that show was fireflames from the jump? You bet. To each their own, I guess, as long as all these people stop pleading for me to watch Breaking fucking Bad for the millionth time.
I’ve only watched Bloodline, Gossip Girl, House of Cards, HIMYM, Mad Men, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. But, I have to say, this is fairly accurate for all of those. Now if they could just stop asking me if I want to keep watching while I’m plowing through episodes, that’d be great. .

This caused me to race to Netflix and see if Better Call Saul was finally added to their instant catalog.
It isn’t.
Peaky Blinders and Narcos both episode 1
I was hooked on Narcos before I even started episode one.
I see what you did there
Girls are addicted to Scandal once they hear from their besties how amazing it is. They didn’t have to watch a single episode.
So, so true.
I just powered through all 8 seasons of Dexter in an embarrassingly short amount of time. Go do yourself a favor and make it your next addiction.
Coming from someone who watched the whole series, it’s best to drop that habit after season 4.
Season 6 is worth watching. Pretend the series finale doesn’t exist.
I just started watching Friday Night Lights…I finished all of season 2 on a sick day. I just can’t decide who is hotter…Coach Taylor or Riggins?
