Mickey Moniak has had a pretty decent last 12 months or so. He signed for $6.1 million as the #1 overall pick by the Phillies in June’s MLB draft, hit his first pro home run, and is considered a consensus top-50 prospect in all of baseball. Even better than all that, however, was winning a bet to make his best friend get a tattoo of his John Hancock on the guy’s ass.

Back when he was still a prep outfielder in California, Mickey Moniak agreed to a bet with childhood friend Ethan Abrams: If Moniak were drafted in the top 10, Abrams would get Moniak’s name tattooed on his rear end.
I’d like to hope that our boy Abrams gambled his doomed anus before Moniak was considered not just a lock top-10 pick, but a #1 overall candidate. Either way, once the Phillies popped Moniak, the countdown was on to deliver the anal ink. Abrams stepped up like an honorable man:
While you may initially think Moniak made off like a bandit in this wager, as he’s now both a multi-millionaire and owns some real estate on another dude’s ass, Abrams has a chance at redemption.
If Abrams, currently a pitcher at Columbia University, is drafted in the first 20 rounds, Moniak has to get a tattoo of his own.
Here’s hoping Abrams’ Columbia career becomes top-20 round worthy..
