Making A Murderer’s Steven Avery Has A New Power Attorney And She’s Coming In Hot

When we last saw Steven Avery, he was representing himself and seeking a new trial via the appeals process, but the former wrongly-convicted rapist and current possibly wrongfully-convicted murderer may be seeing the tide turn.

Kathleen Zellner is a Chicago-based attorney who specializes in wrongful convictions and has 16 overturned convictions and a Chicago Lawyer Magazine “Person of the Year” award to her name. Like the rest of us, Zellner has taken interest in the Avery case, and now this wrongful conviction gunslinger is strolling into the Wild Wild Midwest with guns blazing. The fury of Zellner is about to rain down on the District Attorney’s office and the rest of Manitowoc County.

There are a few other gems on her Twitter, and hopefully many more to come as her work on this case continues. We all loved & appreciated the hard work and dedication of Jerry Buting and Dean Strang, but Zellner is bringing absolute fire right away, and her pedigree could be what it takes to get Avery (and maybe Brendan “He’s not that smart” Dassey) a shot at exoneration.

Here’s to hoping Netflix pumps out 40 more MAM episodes by the end of this year.

This is the second article I’ve seen siting this lawyers tweets as some groundbreaking revelation. Averys dreamy team of lawyers called bullshit on all this same evidence.

This same attorney is responsible for getting a Missouri man’s conviction overturned a few years ago. Dude served 10 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. In my opinion the evidence was almost worse than what Avery has against him.
