Just went to HEB solely for ketchup and wine. PGP.
I don’t know what this means
Did some homework. HEB is the Howard E. Butt grocery store spread throughout more than 150 communities in Texas and Mexico. Founded in 1905 by Florence Butt, Howard took over and began expanding the company throughout the 1920s. HEB began constructing air-conditioned stores to stock frozen foods in the 40s. Decades of grocer innovation followed, launching HEB into one of the largest grocery chains in America and earning the ‘Progressive Grocer Magazine’ Retailer of the Year award in 2010.
I wanted to end there but I’m actually kind of fascinated by a few things. 1. They opened a fully-automated Houston bakery in 2004 which produces 153 loaves of bread and 750 buns PER MINUTE. 2. HEB is the largest privately held company in a state that takes pride on grandiosity. 3. HEB has a Latino-based chain in the US called Mi Tienda, with an incredibly stereotypical Hispanic product offering. 4. H-E-Buddy is their creepy ass grocery sack mascot
