As a current R&D scientist employed within big pharma, I can say confidently that I want the young, female, poli-sci major selling our products. Would someone care to point to another industry that refuses to hire hot, young sales reps to push their products on some sort of moral principle. If your doctor can’t decide for him/herself the medication they prescribe is overpriced/ineffective, then you need to see another doctor. Don’t blame our sales team.

A couple things I agree with this segment. Promoting off-label drug uses and the bizarre TV ads are bad for our industry in the long run.

Well done as usual, but it should be pointed out that presenters must speak only on the information from clinical trials during educational presentations. Scripts for these presentations are approved by multiple healthcare professionals and are based solely on objective findings during the research. It is 100% true that some reps do cross the line, especially in educating physicians on prescribing medications for off label use, but in my experience these reps are not the majority.
