When I used to pace the sidelines of my middle school B team, not playing because of general lack of ability and size, my defensive backs coach used to yell, “FINISH STRONG!” in his disturbingly deep voice. That message still rings true today. It’s all about how you finish.
Take this highly questionable job posting (the posting has since been removed from LinkedIn) from Vestra Inet, a Canadian web design company that really laid their cards on the table with this one. Pay special attention to the last line.
You see, at first glance, things look fine. It’s just a business looking for new talent. I mean, sure, that’s a lot of responsibilities for one job, but it seems legit. Looks like a great opportunity for someone with a vast array of skills. Unfortunately, that last line is going to create a problem. While I applaud them for their honesty, I must chastise them for their complete lack of awareness.
If you’re going to post that, why not just roll this out there instead?
Yeah, you really can’t do that. I know there’s a lot of outrage fatigue out there right now, but this isn’t a good look for our friends up North..

I’m more worried about her being “Taken” to Russia, than their sexism. Keele and steeles is a dirt area, beside Jane/Finch which is the Baltimore of Toronto. Best known for its housing projects, crack sales, gun busts and swat raids. York university is famous for 5 consecutive years of rapes happening to students by people living around the area, and the gang shoot out that occurred in their food court last year, and the Asian exchange student who was murdered on a live webcam video with her boyfriend.

Alternatively, if women are generally discriminated against in employment then a job listing preferring women is actually a positive. This is really just a company full of feminists trying to fix social injustices.
