Instagram announced today they will be implementing a new zoom feature for pictures and video on the app. This obviously means that one will be able to zoom in on pictures to see what kind of shoes a celebrity is wearing or look at the detail on an intricately-designed cake. I always thought it was weird that you couldn’t zoom in on photos, but I never publicly complained about it on social media. Apparently IG users have been clamoring for an update like this for a long time, so this is another win for them following the success of Instagram Stories.
The update hit the App Store for the iPhone today, and if you’re an Android user, well, maybe just buy an iPhone and stop being a peasant because the update for that isn’t going to be here for a few weeks. Check out the video below for a closer look.
Pinching your fingers on an image or video (sort of like how you do on your iPhone already) will zoom in on it. This update will no doubt get some celebrity in trouble in the near future, and I, for one, can not wait..

I fully support anything that means I don’t have to continuously tell my parents not to try to zoom in on an Instagram post that was taken 2 years ago in fear of an accidental like.
