In a wedding but just as an usher. PGP.
Been a usher twice both times I just drank from a flask in the back and just pointed people to a seat.
I think people do it more as an attempt to include people who otherwise wouldn’t make the cut, but they don’t anyone’s feelings to get hurt. Because anything over 6 groomsmen is just trashy imho
Do people really do this? Every wedding I’ve been to/in has just had the groomsmen escort guests to their seats, not had dedicated ushers
I’ve done it once and it’s awful. Especially if you sit at the bridal party table.
My cousin made me do this for her wedding so we would feel “included”. I just want my $150 back for the tux rental.
I was an usher with one other person last month…and we didn’t receive any gifts for doing it.
I was an usher in my friend’s wedding. It was great. After the ceremony started we just drank a couple beers in the back of the venue during the ceremony. Walking people to a seat wasn’t that bad and we just had to point to the reception venue across the courtyard at the end.
