I’m an average guy.
I like to eat tacos. And drink margaritas. And eat barbecue. And crush some beers. And a weak cocktail now and again. I’ve run a few half-marathons in my 20’s, but I’ve slowed down a little bit at my advanced age. It’s been a while since anyone would call me “an athlete.”
Sean Clements is an athlete. He’s a coach at Onnit Gym. He’s training for a trialathon. He’s also a professional mixed martial artist. He fought in Bellator. His nickname is “The Wildman.” He looks like this with his shirt off.
On August 31, Sean and I will face each other in an exhibition at Onnit HQ in Austin, TX. Three rounds of Muay Thai kickboxing. Three rounds of Jiu Jitsu. 200 will fill the bleachers at Onnit Gym. It’s called Chump to Champ. I am the chump, and hopefully, come August 31st, I’ll be the champ.
You’ve heard of Onnit. Their CEO just wrote a New York Times bestseller. They are the Total Human Optimization company. Joe Rogan is their co-founder and always reps their shirts and products. In addition to selling supplements and foods, they also have an online workout program called Onnit6 as well as a physical gym here in Austin. Every time I go over there, I basically trip over NFL stars, pro wrestlers, and other celebrities. It’s wild. And they know what the hell they are doing.
Do you want to watch the first of several documentary videos about my training? Of course you do. Do you want to buy tickets for the event? Yes, of course. Click here to check out Onnit’s Chump to Champ page and get more information about the event. Bookmark this link.
You want more, oh yeah, we got more. There’s a new podcast too. The feed is called Chump To Champ, and you should stop what you’re doing right now and subscribe. If you listen somewhere else, just search “Chump to Champ.”
As you know, we’ve got a bunch of shows here at Grandex, and you’ll be hearing from all of them on the Chump To Champ feed. Basically, we’re gonna take all of the best segments related to the event, edit them together, and post them every Friday throughout August. Subscribe now, and we’ll bring you the first real episode this Friday, August 3rd. Until then, please subscribe, rate, and review this feed and share this episode with a friend or two.
My opponent is also on social media. You can follow Sean if you want, but his account isn’t public, so good luck I guess. He’s probably got something to hide, but I won’t speculate.
We’ve got t-shirts in production and some other exciting stuff on the way. The first documentary hype video is live on onnit.com/chumptochamp right now. Trust me, it’s worth a watch, so go there now and check it out. 32 days..
