Stretching the truth to bag a broad isn’t something new. Hell, even my tried and true first date tactic of going to a restaurant that’s way out of my price range could be considered “lying” in some sense. But my white lies usually ended in fizzling iMessages and awkward exchanges at common bars – not with Broad City‘s star Ilana Glazer putting me on blast during a stand-up set.
Per The Cut, this dude claimed to be a Broad City writer and went as far as to post a photo from 2014 with the show’s two main characters, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, pretending as if he was colleagues with them rather than just some fan trying to get some honey on his stinger. But as it turns out, one of the show’s actual writer’s friends went on a date with the guy and was eventually outed in a phenomenal story from Ilana herself which was (thankfully) documented on Soundcloud.
That’s a lot shittier than going on a few dates only to have the girl you’re wining and dining realize you don’t make six figures and still live with your parents, but hey, you live and you learn.
Oh, and Ilana’s warning to anyone else that might fall victim to this lie? “No men work on Broad City. Don’t fuck a dude cause you think he works on Broad City.” Seems simple enough..

Yea, but did he fuck?
Having Hannibal Burress on your show but not letting him write is a damn travesty.
I feel like he’d wind up improvising over reciting his own written lines anyway.
