Ah, Columbus’ Day. One of those weird holidays were some people have to work and some people don’t. Luckily for me, I fall into the latter category, meaning I can sleep off my jet-lag from my vacation and get semi-back to normal before heading into a shortened work week. So no complaints here. Unlike these people.
Marc Anthony
Good help is hard to find, and it gets even harder for you when your maid sues you.
Singer Marc Anthony is being sued by former maid Concetta Graziosi for $500,000 in unpaid wages. Graziosi, who worked for Marc Anthony back when he was married to Jennifer Lopez, sued Anthony in Federal Court claiming that she was forced to work up to 80 hours a week without overtime pay, instead receiving a flat $2000 every two weeks no matter how many hours a week she worked. On top of that, she received no vacation time, was sometimes required to work seven days a week, and had a “processing fee” deducted from her paycheck, despite the fact that her pay was direct deposited.
Luckily for her, J-Lo was not named in the suit. “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” but maid service definitely does. [via Page Six]
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino
The Situation is also facing some legal trouble, but with a very different outcome.
Sorrentino was sentenced to eight months in prison on Friday after pleading guilty to one count of tax evasion in January. His Jersey Shore: Family Vacation co-stars were in court to support him, and Sorrentino posted an Insta to thank both them and his fans for their support:

Ben and Jackee Belnap
Whenever people ask me if I plan to have kids, my standard answer is “My goal in life is to be the world’s greatest aunt.” And stories like this are the reason why.
The Belnaps, of Halladay, Utah, had saved $1060.00 in cash to pay back Ben Halladay’s parents for University of Utah season tickets. When they went to grab the money to make the repayment, they weren’t able to find the envelope where the cash was stored…until they looked at their paper shredder. Their 2-year-old son Leo regularly helped mom Jackee shred junk mail, so of course, he thought it was totally fine to shred an envelope full of cash.
Luckily for the Belnaps, they learned that you can submit shredded money to the US Department of Treasury Mutilated Currency Division and they will replace it.
“I called the guy the next morning and he said, ‘Oh, we might be able to help you here,’ and I was shocked,” Ben said. “He said, ‘Bag it up in little Ziploc bags, mail it to D.C., and in one to two years, you’ll get your money back.'”
Well, something’s (or sometime) better than nothing. [via CNN]
Mason Crosby
It’s been a hell of a year for NFL kickers, and this week’s victim is the Green Bay Packers Mason Crosby.
In Sunday’s 31-23 loss to the Detroit Lions, Crosby missed his first four field-goal attempts before finally hitting on a 41-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in the game; he also missed an extra point after Davante Adams’ 12-yard touchdown reception in the 4th quarter.
Crosby was actually having a good season leading into this game, making 10 of 11 field goals. He’s also the Packers’ career scoring leader, so he shouldn’t be too worried about this job…but then again, with Sunday’s shitshow, he became the first NFL kicker to miss four field goals and an extra point in the same game since Rolf Benirschke of the Chargers in 1980, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. So….yeah. [via ESPN]
Conor McGregor and his team
As previously stated, I don’t know anything about UFC, but I’m pretty sure you don’t jump into the crowd and start beating on people after you win.

If you remember, McGregor was arrested for attacking Khabib Nurmagomedov’s bus at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn back in April, leading to this match in Vegas. Nurmagomedov choked out McGregor in the 4th round on Saturday night, spit on him, and then jumped out of the cage to attack McGregor’s team, while someone else entered the ring to beat on McGregor.
Nurmagomedov was removed from the area without receiving his belt and, according to TMZ, “Dana White said Khabib’s paycheck for the fight will be withheld until an investigation by the Nevada Athletic Commission is completed.”
Serious question: is this stuff even real?! [via TMZ]

Finally…the Packers get some (sad) recognition. We can’t make fun of the Vikings and their kicker anymore when we have Crosby missing field goals left and right.
Hey guys, Mason Crosby makes ~$4M a year. So, anytime you think making a mistake at your job is the end of the world, just remember that there are people who get paid more than some companies are worth just to play a game and kick an oddly shaped ball in between 2 metal posts for a measly 3 points. Reality USA awesome! *high five* lol
