While you’re already having a good Friday if you’re shockingly not hungover, here’s a fun little tidbit that equates to joy on a near existential level. You’ve been doing it right all along – reheating pasta is actually good for you.
The act of cooking, then cooling, then reheating pasta makes it a healthier option. It transforms pasta into a “resistant starch” instead of a sugar, so rather than heighten the body’s blood-glucose level, reheated pasta could actually reduce it.
YES THAT’S RIGHT YOU’RE BASICALLY IMMORTAL NOW.
So, the next time you’re kicking back with a six-pack and heaping bowl of farfalle pasta (the fanciest pasta because it’s shaped like bowties) heated up from three nights ago, you’re basically doing three “Insanity: Asylum” workouts, back-to-back-to-back.
When your health-conscious significant other reads you the riot act about carbs, grin with a mouthful of two day old spaghetti and slap your kind-of-flat-although-never-going-to-be-toned-again stomach.
While everyone else at the office is eating salads and you’re reheating some mound of whatever the hell you ordered at Olive Garden last night (you were three drinks in to begin with when you got the menu, because, date night) – you’re totes on their level without hating yourself.
Lifestyle bloggers and their superfluous amounts of kale chips be damned, your dollar store pasta that lasts all week is the best thing you’ve done for yourself since splurging on that slutty George Washington costume.
Now go forth and don’t make anything new for dinner..

This is some of the greatest news to ever be posted on here. I love reheated pasta! It tastes better. And now I know why.
