I’m a big fan of Newman’s Own salad dressings. Caesar, ranch, southwestern (Not available in retail stores anymore, only McDonalds. RIP), three-cheese balsamic. All staples for those of us who are lucky enough to afford spending more than $1.69 on salad dressing.
Apparently, the fine, non-profit folks at Newman’s Own thought they’d throw their hat into the queso ring. Tostitos, Velveeta, Rotel and Kraft have a stronghold on the bottled queso market and it doesn’t look like they’re going to lose that stronghold anytime soon according to these Amazon reviews.

Not shockingly enough, Newman’s Own actually did a voluntary recall on their queso in February of this year due to an “undeclared allergen.” The undeclared allergen was not fermented monkey puke, it was wheat. #glutenfree

Well now I have to try it.
I did. I will never get that 1.79 back. Avoid at all costs.
