Chris Pratt could not be having a better year. He’s the star of the #1 movie in America, the summer blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy,” starring in “The Lego Movie” made him the idol of children everywhere, and did an ice bucket challenge that absolutely knocked it out of the park. Now we can absolutely add “Good Guy” to his resume, as Pratt did what any decent human being with a super hero alter-ego would do: Visit kids in the hospital, in character.

Granted, his costume isn’t as complicated or involved as Christian Bale’s Batman or Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, but anyone who takes time out of their schedule to visit sick kids, and do it for the sole purpose of making a sick child feel better, out of the goodness of your heart, then you’re a great freaking guy in my book. According to E! News, he spent more than three hours in costume, signing autographs, giving out toys from both “Guardians” and “The Lego Movie,” and even set up a special screening for these kids, because they weren’t well enough to go out and see the movie when it was released. This is Pratt playing with Dylan “Lego Kid” Prunty, whose Make-A-Wish pick was for a LEGO replica of the hospital, which you can see in the background. Prunty recognized the actor’s voice from “The Lego Movie” and Pratt spent extra time playing with the kid, talking about the movie, and even reportedly re-enacted scenes from The LEGO Movie with Prunty. He also signed some of Prunty’s Lego swag.
All this from a man who, in an interview with Panzer TV last month, hoped that his character would be recognizable enough to visit kids in a hospital: “If it was a big enough movie to where it would mean something to a kid who’s sick in the hospital for Peter Quill or Star-Lord to come visit them, I’ll do that. That would give me real meaning for this movie, you know?”
“The coolest things would be that my son can one day see this, and that maybe I can go affect some kids in a positive way, (and) be a good role model for them.”
So there you go: Andy Dwyer/Burt Maclin/Peter Quill/Star-Lord is one of the greatest human beings of all time. As if there was any doubt.
