Austin, Texas is already America’s next big boom town. The population grows by 110 people a day and it’s threatening to crack the top 10 of most populated cities in the US. Austin’s current skyline is a mix of residential and corporate towers, but according to this graphic, this is what Austin is going to look like in just three years:

From what I can tell, this only shows projects currently under construction or planned. Odds are that there will only be more to come.
That doesn’t look like the quaint little city people love to describe Austin as, but rather an exploding metropolitan skyline that rivals Atlanta and Dallas. People in Austin love bitching about how many people have moved here in the past few years, but massive urban growth isn’t the worst thing that can happen to a city, especially for those of us interested in making money instead of going to pun tournaments. Now if they could just get the whole traffic thing figured out.
This of course does not factor in the Grandex World Headquarters, which will be approximately 150 stories high and 700 feet wide.

Texas Grad Problems.
new roads and freeways should the city’s #1 priority
Public transportation is more important than anything. A functioning interstate loop as well.
Man, your rent is going to triple in the next decade. That sucks.
Maybe don’t work downtown? #MopacLife
Austin’s skyline will never be as cool as Dallas’. The only reason it can even be questioned is because of The Captial building.
The Capitol*, damnit.
