“The Office” captured the American workplace better than any television show we’ve ever seen. The daily struggles of corporate America brilliantly skewered at 9pm ET every Thursday night from 2005-2013. Michael Scott’s legend still lives on and “The Office” serves as a timeless beacon of American parody.
Still, something gnaws at me whenever I re-watch it. The Jim and Pam subplot was by far, the most interesting (at least for a little bit) part of the show. I still can’t help but noticing how bad Pam sucked for the most part.
When she had a destination wedding.
And then delayed the ceremony for two hours while she got married on a boat because she was overwhelmed by wedding stress. GET OVER YOURSELF.
When Roy set a date after three years and she was like “Oh, okay cool.” and then made this face.
When she stole all of Phyllis’s clients.
When she invented a job for herself that created zero revenue for the company.
Every single time she led Toby on.
When she invented that stupid camera gesture on their wedding weekend.
When she tried to win over Deangelo with baby pictures.
When she got back together with Roy.
And then broke up with him because she felt guilty for kissing Jim days before their wedding and was mad when he freaked out about it.
When she blamed Jim for her parents’ marriage falling apart.
When she went to the movies on Michael’s last day after lying about where she was going and almost missed saying goodbye to him.
When she made fun of Michael’s penis at his roast. Out of line.
When she decided to wait until Jim was in a happy relationship to tell him how she really felt.
When she left her stable job just months before getting married.
When she lied to her grandma about being pregnant.
When she refused to leave Scranton to move to Philadelphia because her husband had a successful startup.
When she got mad at Phyllis for stealing all of her wedding ideas.
When she dragged Jim to Roy’s 8am wedding.
Basically all of season eight and nine.
Jim should’ve stayed with Karen.
