If there’s one thing I love, it’s a grown man yelling at other adults about how bad they are at running their business. Luckily for me, Jon Taffer does that every Sunday on SpikeTV on his show Bar Rescue.
He hosted an AMA on Reddit today and it was 50 shades of awesome. The full thing can be read here, but I picked out the best nuggets for your enjoyment.
This show was the main killer of my college roommate’s and my idea to open up a bar. So sad. We could have had it all!
Went to Spirits on Bourbon last Thursday night. Cool bar and the barber chair is a great idea, but the girl was overweight and we all know fat girl boobs don’t count.
The question that is always on my mind when I watch the show and I’m sad nobody asked. Does he make any royalties off of the bars he rescues? Or does he charge a flat fee? Or any fees at all? Or does he just make money from the network?
I’ve read that he does not take any royalties and just gets paid with a contract. Plus, everything on that show is sponsored and plugged nonstop. I guarantee you they flip each bar for less than 10 grand.
