First off, BULLSHIT. Secondly, alright, fine, I’ll watch it religiously like I always have.
Yeah, you read the title right. Mad Men’s sixth and final season will be split over two years, much like the final season of Breaking Bad. The final season, which is 14 episodes in length, will be split up between spring of 2014 and spring 2015, giving fans of the series a full two years to say goodbye to dear old Don, Megan, Rodge, Bert, Pete Campbell and the rest of the MM crew.
After going through the torture that has been the two-year long final season of Breaking Bad, I’m hoping that Mad Men delivers just as BB has, twisting the emotion knife in the feelings wound without mercy. With the wild Megan Draper/Sharon Tate conspiracy theories, I’m getting the feeling that Mad Men is about to go all sorts of HAM the final season, much like BB did with the Hank-on-the-toilet cliffhanger.
What will Mad Men’s crazy payoff cliffhanger be? Will it be the manifestation of the Draper/Tate theory? How is Don going to tell his kids about his past? Has Don created this entire world in his mind?
Who the hell knows. One of Mad Men’s great selling points is it’s wild unpredictability and I can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store.
