Happy Thanksgiving! Have a great Hanukkah! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, too! What a great time of year. We get days off from work or school, and we get to go home to see our families and old friends. Yes, the holidays are all well and good, but the most important event I’ll be celebrating is…sale season. Sale season is truly the most wonderful time of the year. Some might say sales are more important than family, friends, and religion combined.
Starting today and going through early January, the “Promotions” tab of your Gmail inbox is going to be stuffed like a Thanksgiving Turducken with every store and brand on Earth screaming at you about their sales. If you are not prepared, this will be an overwhelming nightmare, and you will miss out on all of the glorious deals to be had. You will end up empty-handed with no badass new threads to your name, and it will haunt you for the rest of your fucking life.
Luckily, I’m here to let you in on a little secret. As a veteran professional shopper, I swear by the art of “Wishlisting.” Wishlisting is like the grown-up version of writing Santa a letter. I take this practice to an extreme, complete with iPhone Notes, bookmarked pages, and even an Excel spreadsheet. YES, A FUCKING EXCEL SPREADSHEET. How else are you supposed to prioritize all those items?
The first thing you’ll want to do is identify all the things you want that you either can’t afford regardless of a sale or that won’t go on sale at all. This is your GIFT LIST. When friends, significant others, spouses, and family members ask you what you’d like as a present, you send them this list. Don’t let these people off the hook by giving them a list full of things that they’ll be able to cop at a discount. You can buy those things for yourself! Make them earn your love with full-priced shit.
Next you’re going to want to go store-by-store or brand-by-brand and copy the links to everything you want. Figure out how much you want to spend at each place. You can then prioritize by any number of parameters. Obviously, the items you want most are at the top of your list, but you also have to consider stock levels, chances of those items going to deeper discount, bang-for-your-buck, what items fill “needs” as opposed to “wants,” how big of a flex each item would be on Instagram, among other things. It’s an inexact science, so everyone’s going to have their own formula.
Now look, I’m here to help you guys out. I know there may be several places you’ll want to shop, but I want to take some of the work off your plate. That’s why I’ve already created your Man Outfitters wishlist, which, let’s be honest, is probably going to be at the top of that priority list you’re now creating. I’m going to present this list to you in order of my own personal priority algorithm (Barrett’s Wishlisting Technique™) so feel free to bookmark these links or even copy them in to your very own Excel spreadsheet and toy with the order as you see fit.
Starting 11/20 at midnight, Man Outfitters is giving you 20% OFF sitewide, and deals will be dropping on Cyber Monday and Black Friday as well.
In addition to being sale season, did you know it’s also hoodie season? Hoodies are the hottest thing in men’s fashion currently. Arc’teryx is unrivaled when it comes to technical gear, and as it happens, they’re also the most fashion forward performance brand in existence today. Is this just a black zip-up hoodie? No, it’s THE black zip-up hoodie. You’re going to look like a baller in this thing, and also look like maybe you can hack the shit out of E-corp.
This pile-fleece-lined jacket blasts all the way up to #2 for it’s extremely high PKW score. That’s a “Potential Kanye Wear” for the uninformed. That dude loves his workwear, especially in earthy neutrals. Tell me you can’t see Ye sizing up on this thing and wearing it with some baggy sweats and an unreleased pair of Yeezy crepe-soled military boots. The genius of this piece is that it fits into any look you might be going for. Throw it on over a crewneck sweatshirt with tapered denim and a killer pair of Nikes for a perfect streetwear look or pair it with a flannel, dark chinos, and brown boots for a more traditional and outdoorsy one.
Who would I be if I didn’t have a pair of shoes in my Top 3? These hikers from Sorel with their pop-blue laces and jagged lug soles are hands-down the coolest pair of shoes on the entire site. If you removed all of the logos and told me they had just been on the runway for Virgil’s FW’18 Off-White collection, I would probably believe you. Also, “waterproof” translates to “bar-proof.” This is one pair of shoes you won’t have to worry about wearing for nights out on the town.
- Patagonia ‘P-6 Logo’ Long-Sleeve Cotton Tee in Black
- RVCA ‘PTC’ Pigment-Dyed Pocket Tee in Pirate Black
I am severely lacking in good long-sleeve t-shirts. Here’s where the “need” versus “want” portion of the BWLT™ algorithm comes into play. Both of these are great-looking basics that I’ve currently got a need for. A black long-sleeve tee is also super versatile, so I know both of these will get worn a ton. Logo tee with sweats and sneaks? Done. Faded black tee with jet black denim and a leather jacket? Crispy.
How are you going to get fits off with these dope tops and jackets if you don’t also have some sick ass pants? These fly up to #6 to fill out your wardrobe. As the ancient proverb goes: “Tees and jackets alone, a closet will not make.” The dark navy color makes them an easy go-to and the fit is ultra-modern without veering into skinny territory. The 5-pocket style on these also makes them a perfect hybrid between chinos and jeans, so you’re getting the best of both worlds here.
It can get pretty mild (read: warm) during the winters in Central Texas. This can make getting dressed difficult because you want to stay cool and comfortable while also looking seasonally appropriate. Enter this corduroy slip-on from Seavees. My checkerboard Vans just aren’t going to look right with dark denim and a light fleece vest on those December days when the high temp reaches 71 degrees, but these definitely will. Leave it to the Californians to design the perfect shoes for comically warm winter weather.
I would be remiss to not include the evergreen Patagonia Snap-T on my wishlist. Chances are you already have one, but Patty G just continues to crank out drool-worthy color combos of these bad boys, and I can’t help myself. Shia wears one. A$AP Rocky wears one. Barrett Dudley wears one. WILL DEFRIES WEARS ONE. Do you need any more reasons to buy? I didn’t think so, but I’m going to give you one anyway: Brown is the color of the season. Jump in. Pull it on. Live your truth.
That’s it. There’s my list. Take from it what you will, and remember, 20% OFF sitewide on Man Outfitters starting 11/20 at midnight with more deals coming on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. .
Those boots are necessary.
Guys, it’s time to grow up. Fashion is cool but the real holiday savings are in a little known Swedish company that has created the first ever 60 minute cancer imagery/pin-point treatment device that will soon be making its first scaled production run after Dec. 31st. They have 9 of these machines already in clinical use around the globe and each device costs $12M. Drop $500 on the stock and you’ll be able to buy ManOutfitters.com and all of it’s assets within 5 years or less lol
wut
I’m talking about the next new breakthrough treatment for cancer besides CAR-T cell therapy, Ross, and it’s stock costs $8.55 right now which is roughly 1/3 the cost of Alpha Brain that I continually buy from Manoutfitters.com to bring you guys this deep knowledge and so i don’t get fired from my day job. It will skyrocket in value in the coming years when production orders are placed from cancer treatment facilities and hospitals. 1 of these devices is currently being used in Boston right now. Have I ever steered any of you wrong in the past 4 years?
Damn, tough crowd. Fine, just eat Arby’s and whatnot then lol
it’s hard to get excited about stocks when we’re all gonna die anyways
It’s hard to buy stock when you don’t tell us the name of the company…
Venmo me $500 and I’ll tell you….I’m just kidding, it’s Elekta. Bust seriously, give me $500
Dude, they’re trading at $73 right now and aren’t trading on the NYSE or NASDAQ. You let me down, man, let me way down.
Dude EKTAF and EKTAY
They are on the pink sheets, you know, penny stocks.
None of this appeals to me. If you were trying to appeal to the readers money should have been the first choice
Gotta spend money to make money
I’m sure this stuff is nice, and I know they need to shill for ManOutfitters, but this is too rich for my blood.
Nah man the whole point is we don’t want to SHILL anything. Man Outfitters is all stuff we actually believe in and stand behind. The bigger Man Outfitters gets, the less bullshit ads we have to serve to pay the bills, the better our content offering is. Support the cause, bruh.
What Bill said is the truth. We literally sift through hundreds of thousands of products each season to ensure that MO offers only the best stuff. Obviously there is a lot of subjectivity here and MO is not for everyone. It’s first and foremost for us, and our hope is that there are enough guys out there who have similar tastes. So far this appears to be the case, as MO has quickly become the number one revenue driver for our company and continues to grow exponentially.
It’s a battle to eliminate the need to shill for outside brands and MO is our strategy to win this battle. Give Man Outfitters a chance to earn your business this holiday season.
They toss good sales though. I’ve gotten a few mizzen&main shirts for half price and they are well worth $60.
I buy from MO when possible and from brands that are based on quality and not name. But I don’t buy an entire wardrobe there nor is that expected. But some of my favorite items the last couple years came from MO.
