UCF Grad for a little over a year now... Glory days behind me. Quarter life crisis before me.
God bless teachers and nurses for having a job that helps society, but they are the most annoying people on social media, besides girls who are in the process of getting married.
My newsfeed is full of teachers complaining how overworked and under-appreciated they are, as if the rest of us are handed gold stars as we leave the office at 3 pm.
In California some elementary school teachers get paid close to 6 figures with their masters while still getting summer break, winter break, and plenty of holidays. Sounds like a good gig to me.
My biggest thing is that there’s no way they could’ve expected anything different. We all get thrown curveballs at the office and get stuck doing shitty work but teachers know exactly what’s in store for them.
I don’t think anyone should be constantly complaining about their jobs to everyone who will list. I’m married to a teacher though and I just wanted to step in and say good teacher don’t leave at 3. Grading until 8 PM is not uncommon, and they have to stay late pretty regularly in order to change the seasonal decorations in their classrooms like they are expected to (with all of the supplies paid for out of their own pockets), and in many schools at least in our area they cut back of custodians so they have to stay late to clean fairly often as well or it gets pretty gross.
Yeah but you try dealing with 140 fourteen year olds every day and not just want to bitch to everyone. The more time you spend around them the more you become like them. I think it’s a contact high from all the puberty hormones.
I’m a teacher and teachers who constantly complain about their jobs annoy me too. I get where they’re coming from, some days the job just sucks. But cmon, what were you expecting when you went into education? If it’s that bad, get a different job.
