I now feel like a total dumbass for eating out every meal.

I had some advanced cooking classes in high school that really helped me out. Other than that, YouTube is your best friend. I highly recommend Food Wishes, No Hippie BBQ, Burning Cereal, and CookedbyJulie. These are all excellent channels. One really big thing that helped my wife and I was portioning chicken breasts before hand. Chicken breasts these days are HUGE so just buy in bulk, cut each one in half lengthwise, and place each one of the new chicken filets in their own zip lock bag in the freezer. When you come home from work, toss a couple bags into a bowl of warm water and they should be ready in 30 minutes or so. Place on baking tray (use aluminum foil to avoid dishes!), lightly coat in olive oil, season, and place in oven for 13-15 minutes at 425. You will have healthy chicken without dirtying up a pan. Use this method to cook and shred chicken for chicken salad, chili, chicken quesadillas etc. It’s also great just to put on a salad. You can also buy a rotisserie chicken at the store and break it down. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy comment I just thought it would help.
I’m a big Food Wishes guy myself. Chef John is awesome.
I’ve got an hour and a half before I can enjoy a nice peanut butter and depression sandwich in the lunch room. Bad timing.
Tip 6: always do a TON of blow before you film cooking videos
Helps with portion control!
I know why I don’t cook more, the last thing I want to do at the end of the day is dishes.
Save them for the next day
I cook dinner from scratch almost every night, but I don’t think I’ll ever get the onion thing down. Having a $300 knife would probably help.
Shoutout to holding a knife properly (http://stellaculinary.com/pics/professional-culinary-knife-skills/how-to-hold-chef-knife-like-a-professional-grip.jpg)
Disagree with the oil in the water bit…that’s just a waste.
