Here’s a little pick-me-up for you: There’s a new Pee-wee Herman movie coming to Netflix, and Judd Apatow is producing it. “Pee-wee’s Big Holiday,” written by Paul Reubens and Paul Rust, was announced by Netflix today. They described the plot: “a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in an epic story of friendship and destiny.” Well, I’m sold.
“As a fan of Pee-wee Herman since he first appeared on The Dating Game,” Apatow said in the statement, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the brilliant Paul Reubens on this film. It is a dream come true.”
As you may know, Apatow is the veteran producer of such modern comedic classics as “Anchorman,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Talladega Nights,” “Step Brothers,” “Knocked Up,” and also some ’90s gold including “The Cable Guy” and “Heavy Weights.” Combine that with the comedic stylings of Paul Reubens, and I’m confident that this will not suck. Production is set to begin in March, but in the meantime, remember, listen to Pee-wee and don’t do crack..

I’m just going to leave this clip of Pee-Wee railing snow under a table with Cheech and Chong here…
I’ve been creeped out by Pee Wee Herman / Paul Rubenfeld ever since his child pornography associations in the early 2000’s.
