1. So your job sucks and your workplace isn’t so great.

2. Chances are you’ll still stick around for at least another 5 years.

3. It’ll be painful. So you might as well learn how to make the workplace work for you.

4. And hey, maybe you’ll end up liking it.

5. So be sensitive to the lifestyles and choices of others.

6. Embrace the diversity of your workplace.

7. And understand how to progress equality in it.

8. Never tell your boss you’re free on the weekends.

9. Never tell your coworker you can help them with a program they don’t understand.

10. Be spontaneous.

11. Define the line between work-friend and friend-friend.

12. Know what office jokes are appropriate.

13. Endure the long hours.

15. Tackle the tasks you’re given with hardwork and initiative.

16. Accept that sometimes you won’t be included in something you’re most-qualified to do.

17. And react with dignity.

18. Know when to cut loose.

19. Respect the business and privacy of your coworkers.

20. Because at some point you’ll hear some hot office gossip.

21. And it’ll be hard to keep to yourself.

22. So relish the moments of respect or adoration you’re given.

23. Remember the good times dearly.

24. Laugh.

25. Argue.

26. Cry.

27. Persevere.

28. And enjoy the experience.

29. Because time flies.

30. And before you know it, your job will become your life, and your life your job.

31. And maybe that’s scary.

32. But when you do something long enough, you might realize that it grows on you.

33. And when you’re doing something you love.

34. With the people you love.
