I hate what Austin has become. It has gone from the most laid back, authentic city in America to trendy garbage in about ten years. Who would have ever though Hippies (Old Austin) are better than Hipsters. I just wish they realized that this is still Texas. We used to be proud of being Texan, and embraced the more rugged, yet classy vibe that goes along with it. Not anymore.
As a good example, recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Town lake and they had a yoga mat hanging in the hotel room closet. I mean, I guess they expect us to forget that the hotel is dated and grungy for a Hyatt Regency by putting some trendy BS in the closet.
