This. Every girl I dated prior to my last gf I significantly out-earned. Finances were not discussed openly, but I knew by their jobs, and it ended up with me paying for basically everything.

My current gf out-earns me, and it’s been great. We split everything down the middle, and we can go on dope trips all the time. Money is never an issue, and it’s just split 50/50.

  • Blutarsky 6 years ago on Questions About Living Alone From A Guy Who’s Always Had Roommates

Living alone is the tits. If you’re over 25, and you live alone, I think the only way you ever go back to having roommates is living with a significant other. I’ve always had roommates, 3 brothers, 3 roommates in dorms, then 5 roommates in college house, then back to 2 roommates postgrad. I was worried about living alone but everything about it is better.

I found myself much more social. So often I would come home from work on a Friday knowing I could fall back into going to bars with roommates or hanging with them. When I moved on my own, I hung out with more people, more often, and did way more. Having roommates is great for social situations, but it can also be a crutch to fall into the same habits.

It’s easier to keep clean when it’s just you. It’s easier to clean up for one (and less daunting) than for you and your roommates.

Can only blame yourself. Good and bad.

    Awkward burns happen.

Thie Living Room, cast it onto the bigscreen if you’d like–the world is your oyster.

If you’re debating living alone, I would highly highly recommend it. The older you get, especially with potentially moving in with significant other you may never have the chance to live by yourself. Do it.

I mean I guess the taxidermy was weird, but she seemed the most normal, and likable of any of the girls on the show.

You know what’s weird? Telling someone on your first one on one date that you’re in love with them, Tia.

She seemed more socially aware than anyone on the show, she put Krystal in the dirt, it seemed obvious she wasn’t going to win it all when she wasn’t gonna drop the “L” bomb after 6 weeks of dating and 4 one on one dates.

    Big Kendall guy.

    Travel to Europe.

It can be done frugally, and it’s significantly easier to meet people while traveling solo in Europe due to the frequency of hostels. Sign up for ScottsCheapFlights. You can find a flight to Europe for under $500 pretty easily. Then just stay in hostels. It’s cheaper than a hotel by a longshot–and it’s filled with other solo travelers. Most of them have events meant to encourage interaction of their guests.

Once you’re in Europe, the flights are absurdly cheap. You can fly from Rome to Lisbon for $45 bucks. Trains aren’t expensive, and if you’re penny-pinching you can take overnight buses.

Also, outside of SUI, London, Paris, Amsterdam, most* European cities that I’ve traveled to are cheaper than the states. Your lodging will be less, food will be less, drinks can be less if you don’t club every night.

My biggest regret is not doing it earlier in life.

  • Blutarsky 7 years ago on So What Is The Ideal Length Of A Vacation?

I did almost the same thing right before 4th of July. Leave that Thursday night for Europe, no one works during the week of the 4th, ended up getting 17 days off, but really only missed like 8 or 9 real days of work.

17 days is a bit long though, near the end I was getting antsy to be back.

  • Blutarsky 7 years ago on Europe Isn’t Nicer Or More Sophisticated Than America – It’s Just Different

Europe is still pretty cool. I think American’s in general would be a lot better if they traveled outside of the US more often. That being said, Europe:

No fatties, at all. You see a fat person, they’re America. Everyone rips cigs, handrolling cigs so in rn. Awesome public transportation, so much better than the states. Awful customer service, people always ask if I enjoy coming to Europe bc I won’t have to tip–I’d drop 30% on every meal if I could get decent service in Europe, it’s awwwwful.

Nightlife is different, obviously fashion is much different. Hollister and Adidas all the rage apparently.

  • Blutarsky 7 years ago on Top 5 Summer Vacation Destinations For Millennials

This doesn’t relate to the article, but I highly recommend taking a solo, international trip. It’s way less expensive than you think.

Sign up for ScottsCheapFlights. Sends insanely spicy international flight deals to your inbox, for free. There’s a paid version, I use free. I enthusiastically recommend it to friends and coworkers.

Stay in hostels, they’re always less than $100/night. And flights/rail inside of Europe is insanely cheap.

Some countries are more expensive than the US, but most are not. You can eat for less than what you would in a US city, lodge for less than you would in a US city, and eat different food.

I’m flying to Spain at the end of the month for $400, round trip. Checking out Spain, +3 other countries. Basically not missing any work because of 4th of July. Getting to check out 4 countries, 10+ days, and not getting behind on work at all.

It’s easier than you think, the toughest part is buying the ticket, and with ScottsCheapFlights (or an alternative) you can find very affordable tickets.

  • Blutarsky 7 years ago on Should Guys Really Have To Put The Toilet Seat Down?

I have three brothers, the toilet seat was constantly covered in urine. Do women not wipe the seat prior to sitting down?

My entire life I’ve wiped the seat down, is that not the norm for females?

Now that I live alone (and am the primary toilet user) is the first time in my life that I don’t wipe the seat prior to sitting down. That’s only in the master bath.

  • Blutarsky 7 years ago on Coming To Grips With A Deal That Didn't Close

The worst is the deals that just wither away. I can accept the “not interested” but the worst are the ones who inevitably don’t respond once they’re at the goal line.

I know their non-response likely means I haven’t built enough value–but my prospects are so busy–many deals get to the goalline then I never hear from them again. The worst.
