Ben & Jerry’s Teams Up With Ron Burgundy To Make Scotch Ice Cream

In news that is equal measures awesome and disappointing, famed ice cream makers Ben & Jerry’s announced an Anchorman 2-themed addition to their product line today, titled “Ron Burgundy’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch.”

Awesome, obviously, because it’s an Anchorman 2-themed flavor of ice cream with “scotch” in the title. Disappointing, because no, there is unfortunately no actual scotch (or alcohol at all, for that matter) in the frozen treat. No, just some butterscotch flavoring and swirls. Bummer on that front.

I’ve had some solid rum raisin, cherries jubilee, and over-sauced banana’s foster in my day, and I have to admit at first-glance I was super excited by the prospect of just getting hammered on a quart of Ben & Jerry’s and saying “stay classy, [insert name here]” to people around me, but I guess that dream will never come true.

Nonetheless, it’s a cool, funny product tie-in for the movie that I’m glad exists if not simply for the sheer number of times I can now annoyingly bring back the use of the quote “scotchy scotch scotch” in daily conversation like it’s 2004 all over again. Remember how fast all of those great quotes got played-out back then? Yeah, the same thing will happen with the new movie. Except this time, you can be eating Scotchy Scotch Scotch while saying them. A flavor that, let’s be honest, probably tastes terrible, but you’ll probably buy it, anyway.

The ice cream hits store shelves in the next few weeks. Anchorman 2 premieres in theaters December 20th.
